Wayne received a Bachelor of Architecture degree with honors from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  While at Cal Poly SLO he embraced the notion of "learn by doing" and focused his attention on the study of Contextualism. He also participated in a pilot program still thriving today consisting of a consortium of 5 esteemed universities hosted by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and conducted in Alexandria, Virginia. While living on the East Coast Wayne took many opportunities to travel the eastern seaboard discovering a whole new realm and vocabulary of architectures and aesthetics. He spent his early career working with large firms such as SOM and CRSS honing his skills in programming, design and production (working drawings).  He gaining broad exposure to many project types including some high profile efforts for MCA Universal Studios and the City of Irvine City Hall. Although rich and varied, these experiences led him to choose a path towards a more intimate application of architecture and design: residential and small project design.

"My approach towards design is simple- I take a hands-on approach to my client's needs, goals & vision while creating forms and spaces tailored to my client's taste and appropriate to their surroundings. Great design is not a matter of contemporary or traditional, modern or stylistic but rather the exploration of innovative yet pragmatic solutions with constant attention to detail. This is the key consideration if a project is to ever reflect and belong to the client and environment where it resides.

Context is everything.

I take direction from the constraints and opportunities each project offers- whether from the idiosyncraticallies of the site and essential characteristics of the region when designing a new structure on raw land or from the existing architectural/structural aspects of the structure of a renovation/remodel.

The notion of "appropriate" is always close in mind.
